Iron AltarThis is a piece I made last year. The altar
shape is make from a vintage metal plate
used to rest a hot iron on. I put tiny red crystals
around the outer edge , the wings and base are wood.
The image is from an antique card, embellished
with collage papers.

I like this for all the obvious reasons---it crosses that boundary between everyday secular and something with spirit and holy. What a unique view of the diverse pieces---to put them together into this!
